TLC for Kids
There are certain people that you meet in life that leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul. This is what Tim Conolan, CEO of TLC for Kids and his partner Ana Darras did to me. In all my years in business, I have never come across a couple that are so dedicated and committed to making a difference to the lives of others and in this case, to sick kids. When Tim told me the inspirational and emotional story behind TLC for Kids, I was moved beyond words. It was at that moment that I knew I had finally found a charity I would be so proud to support. And to top it off, Tim has also joined Smart Social Media Solutions as one of our Smart Social Media Consortium Members (how lucky are we)!!
So What is TLC for Kids All About?
TLC for kids delivers free services that provide emotional and practical support for children and their families facing stressful situations relating to any health condition. Health Care Professionals assess each situation and call upon TLC for kids if they feel the child or their family would benefit from additional support, especially if the family has fallen through the gaps from other support services within the health care network. Since 1998, TLC for kids services have helped provide distraction and support for children more than 2.2 Million times.
Here’s a short video from Tim, explaining in a bit more detail what TLC for Kids is all about.

1st July 2011 is Tracky Dack Day!
TLC for Kids have come up with this novel and fun way of raising much needed donations for TLC for Kids. The ethos behind Tracky Dack Day is that the kids in hospital are encouraged to get out of their pajamas and into tracky dacks to help them feel ‘normal’ as opposed to being sick in bed and in hospital.
I actually ‘dack up’ every morning to go for a run (or if I am working in my office, behind closed doors), but rest assured, on Tracky Dack Day, the trackies will be on for the whole day – no matter if I have client meetings or presentations on, I will be wearing my dackies!! I hope you can join in and be part of this very special campaign for TLC for kids. CLICK HERE to get involved!
